It was a sad day! The preschool parakeet died. The varying reactions amongst the children were many. My daughter was deeply distressed. The worst part for her was the parakeet’s eyes. They were open, but unseeing. The emptiness in his eyes shook her more than the death itself. This led to numerous conversations about death. And a few nightmares.
